Sonatina Festival

 

Purpose - To encourage students to learn and perform compositions written in a traditional form - the sonata.  The majority of piano music written in this form comes from the Classical period.

 

Details -  Each student must play one memorized movement of a published Sonatina/Sonata.  Any number of movements may be played, not to exceed 10 minutes.  All participants receiving a superior will be awarded a trophy.

 

There are two judges and an audience of other students who will also perform and their families.
